We're still alive and still active in shipping out orders, and we have been all along despite the lack of posted updates since August. We've simply been long-delayed in updating the catalog with new items in the past few months. Finding record labels who can ship UNDAMAGED merchandise to us has become nearly impossible.
We would like to take this opportunity to politely remind all of our customers that you must add the cost of shipping to your PayPal shopping cart before checking out! (It is not automatically added. You must visit the shipping page, add appropriate shipping and other services to your cart, and THEN check out.) If you check out without adding and paying for the cost of shipping, we will issue another PayPal invoice for the cost plus the addition fee ($0.30) that PayPal charges us. The lack of updates reflects the general trend of low summer sales throughout shops and labels during this time of year. We are still alive and active, currently waiting on some incoming items from a few different sources, which will be cataloged and posted for sale when they arrive. Unfortunately, problems with merchandise received from other record labels - damages, months-long shipping delays, bad communication - have persisted. Despite self-serving claims of "success" on the part of many small labels, it would seem that a great many are not successful at all, and may have garnered more worldwide attention for themselves if fans had any reason to order their CDs from them - if only because their insane methods of packaging merchandise for shipment certainly do grab attention! Seemingly unwilling to serve their customers any better than to package CDs in trash and shredded bits of cardboard, the experimental music "scene" may eventually destroy itself by undermining customer confidence in the music and the physical product itself, with no help needed from persistent bootleggers - either doing it for cash or to promote their vision of a world full of free music - the majority of whom seem to be holed up in Russia thanks in part to copyright laws there that do not recognize digital media and therefore do not address the issue of creating illegal digital copies of a physical product. (If you'd like to have your identity and credit card information stolen from you, then we recommend purchasing music from Russian MP3 "shops." You're guaranteed to be cancelling your credit card and ruining your credit history the very next day. In addition, none of the Russian MP3 shops are doing business legally. None. Not one. Despite claims on their websites, they are NOT paying any royalties to any Russian "middle man" agency who then distributes money to musicians.)
By some dark miracle, or just the ineptitude of most other shops and labels, Dark Music Domain / First Fallen Star remains one of the LAST entities using NEW materials (boxes, mailers, bubblewrap, etc.) to package orders and prepare them for shipment around the country and around the world. We appreciate that our customers are still willing to buy CDs, so we take every step necessary in ensuring that those CDs arrive quickly and safely!
We received news today that artwork for Melek-Tha's "Symphony of Sickness" and "Via Tenebrae" albums is on the way here from France. It has been exactly one year since the music discs were ready, but delays on the artwork persisted from then until now. Due to the closure of a shop in France, the packaging style for both albums has been changed from A5 foldout to jewel case.
Work continues on Melek-Tha's "H.P. Lovecraft, Volumes 1-6" set. It has taken more time than anticipated to listen to the master audio discs and resolve any problems that were discovered. We apologize to everyone for the delays. Rest assured, this release will see the light of day soon! Watch out in our newsletters for upcoming info on pre-orders for the "Tentacle Box" edition of the set.
Speaking of First Fallen Star, up-and-coming French project Nors'Klh has received some very nice reviews of "La Haine Primordiale" (released on Alchemic Sound Museum) by Heathen Harvest (English) and La Defuncion (Spanish). Congratulations to Nors'Klh on earning those excellent reviews! "La Haine..." is still available here in the DMD shop. First Fallen Star will release "Triangle," the next album from Nors'Klh, sometime in 2012. Our tentative release line-up remains intact with no changes for the time being.
Last but not least, please note that the Shipping page on this site (which you should visit before checking out in order to add S&H to your PayPal cart) features drop-down menus from which you must choose the quantity of standard-size jewel case/digipak items you are paying to have shipped. The titles of the two drop-down menus - "1-10 CDs" and "11-20 CDs" - are only titles, and the first of the two drop-down menus shows you the first option in the menu, "1 CD ... $3.00" (inside the USA). This has led to much confusion and the misunderstanding that it costs $3.00 to ship up to 10 CDs, which is not the case unfortunately. Eldar's "Sapere Aude" was released on Cold Meat Industry. Asbaar is the side-project of Eldar - and something worth adding to your collection if you're already familiar with Eldar! Nors'Klh is surely new to many of you. In 2012, First Fallen Star will release this project's "Triangle" album. For now, though, you can get a taste of how this amazing project fuses dark ambient soundscapes, industrial and neo-classical rhythms, and even some guitar work with the "La Haine Primordiale" album - strictly limited to 100 copies! Psychosis comes to life, emerging from the mind of a man in horrible forms! There's no need to be cautious about buying this album, but you should certainly be afraid to listen to it in the dark! For those of you patiently waiting for First Fallen Star updates, we now offer you just a few photos of the "Tentacle Box Set" for Melek-Tha's "H.P. Lovecraft, Volumes 1-6"!! The boxes pictured below are in 3 different colors. The first box is cast in lime-green resin, the second box was cast in a green resin but later painted black, and the third box was cast in a combination of black resin and transparent green resin that includes glow-in-the-dark powder. And although our pictures do not do the glow box much justice, it does indeed glow! Just a few minutes of sitting in the sunlight, and the box glowed without needing to be placed in the dark! And at 4.5 lbs (2.1 kg) each without anything inside (yet), the boxes are impressive!
We are still waiting to take pre-orders until more of the album artwork is completed. If you have not already done so, please subscribe to at least one of the newsletters (Dark Music Domain or First Fallen Star) to be certain that you do not miss out on the opportunity to get the box set edition of this massive release! We do not currently have any plans to make the box set available through any other retail source.

We have, of course, had to push back our timeline, including the point at which we can begin taking pre-orders for the "Tentacle Box Set." We have seen photos of the completed boxes (cast in colored resin), but we are still patiently waiting to receive the first couple of boxes.

Yes, we are. Our apologies to everyone who thought we might have closed down during the past two months. And to everyone who HOPED that was the case: To Hell with you. Unfortunately, circumstances have been such that we have not been able to catalog all of the merchandise that came in over the past few months. It has been a slow process, and today, we bring you only a handful more. In late December and early January, we hope to finish the task. In the meantime, DO NOT hesitate to place an order. As we always have, we continue to pack and ship orders promptly! That remains our priority - above adding new items to the catalog.
Melek-Tha's "Symphony of Sickness" and "Via Tenebrae" albums were NOT being released on First Fallen Star, but they were being released in collaboration with us. Unfortunately, we have experienced a hiccup as the shop in France where the A5 artwork was going to be printed has now shut down. We will be working to get the artwork printed here in the USA sometime in the next few months. These 2 albums are raw and unmastered, but the discs were professionally duplicated in a factory here in the USA to avoid any problems associated with the CD-Rs of the past (for which DMD/FFS was never responsible).
There have been some pleasant developments in our plans for First Fallen Star in 2011. Melek-Tha's "H.P. Lovecraft, Volumes 1-6" (12CD) set is still due to be released at the end of 2011. Despite the magnitude of the project, we continue to make solid progress. The "Tentacle Box Set" is complete but is in its experimental casting phase, as the sculptor and her associate work out the kinks. We have seen photos very recently, and things are coming along very nicely, but we aren't prepared to stop teasing you anytime soon! We can't show you photos just yet! Artwork and mastering are still under way. There are 14 discs to master, and that's a lot of work.
Innfallen WILL return in 2011 with their second album, "Weathered Roads to a Burning Bridge." This album is already complete, and we've heard the music! It's excellent! Expect a release date in mid to late 2011.
Martial industrial/dark ambient project Nors'Klh will be releasing a yet-untitled album on First Fallen Star sometime in late 2011. This is a new project, but definitely an up-and-comer in the scene! The Coming Soon page has been updated! We are still working on deals with some other record labels, but what you see in that list right now is most of what is currently expected to arrive. Note that we will be getting some copies of Raison D'Etre's "Live Archive" (3CD, ltd.499) - and not a moment too soon, as this release is set to sell out from its Russian record label before the end of the year! There may have been a release by the same name available as a download some years ago, but we have confirmed with the label that the 3CD set they released contains songs that were NOT previously available!
Some of the items listed on the Coming Soon page are already here! Shipments from Red Stream Records, OMS Records, Greytone, and Databloem Records have already arrived, but we are in the process of trying to catalog the contents, and that's no simple task!
It looks like we will finally be getting the Velehentor/Karna split CD from Nomos Dei, the Russian label that released it. It has taken some time, but it will eventually be here. V/A Summoning the Elder Ones will soon be on the way as well. That compilation sold through a portion of the edition before we could make a deal with the record label, and we then had to wait for more copies to be pressed at the factory. But fans of Lovecraft need not despair! It will soon be here.
Speaking of Lovecraft ... and Cthulhu ... Melek-Tha's "H.P. Lovecraft, Volumes 1-6" (12CD) set is still in the works, due to be released on First Fallen Star in late 2011. The crew at Eclipse Media (which includes Anatoly from Karna / Horth) is working on the artwork. Shadow Sound Design is still working on mastering this extensive set of CDs. Sculptor Corinne Crowe has completed sculpting of the "Tentacle Box Set" and has now moved on to creating the molds, from which the final box sets will be cast in colored resin. We are still keeping the photos of the work-in-progress a secret so that we can tease all of you as long as possible! No info yet on when we will finally begin accepting pre-orders!
In early 2011, we plan to announce other future releases on First Fallen Star ... and we are keeping our fingers crossed for good luck regarding which artists will appear next in the Eulogy Series! Mystified has gained new fans with his first installment in the series. And everyone loves the packaging! We have already sold, traded, or given away (as promos) a significant portion of the 500 copies that are available. Do not miss out!

We have a large number of new arrivals here, including a shipment from Malignant
Records which includes the new Yen Pox "Blood Music" 2CD (in A5
digipak)! We also have the new Asbaar album (released on Black Drone) - the side
project of Eldar (released on Cold Meat Industry and others)!! There are all
kinds of goodies here, but we admit that we're having a hell of a time getting
it all cataloged. And more just keeps rolling in!
Melek-Tha's "Left Hand Path" (2CD) box set edition has also arrived, if
you can believe it! We only have a few copies and the box set is not cheap.
Melek-Tha had an artist sculpt an original Baphomet image, with "Melek-Tha"
written on it, and it then had to be cast in a mold for inclusion on the top of
the wooden box set. So, lots of time and money went into this.

We finally received one of the packages from Infinite Fog Productions (Russia),
containing the incoming Velehentor releases. The package was inside the United
States as of July 4, and took more than 6 weeks to be delivered. (Thank you,
Homeland Security.) Those releases are not available for sale yet, but they will
be soon.
We have added the following items to the Coming Soon page. They have not been
cataloged yet, but won't arrive for a few weeks anyway. All of these items are
dark ambient / experimental, with the exception of the Skepticism CDs (funeral
metal / doom metal) and the releases from Databloem, which are all
ambient/glitch/electronica. (In other words, the CDs from Databloem are on the
lighter side of things, but no less enjoyable!)
We are hoping to bring in many more items before the end of the year, but that
depends on the record labels we are in contact with. Wherever trading for First
Fallen Star releases is possible, we are able to offer customers much more
reasonable, somewhat "domestic" prices on import CDs - and we do indeed strive
to offer such prices!

initially received, and so we are now able to offer you bvdub's "The Art of

(Damaged copies of this album and Francisco Lopez's "Amarok" will NOT
be sold through the catalog, so please do not be afraid to purchase them. The
damaged copies will likely be disposed of, as there is nothing else to do with
them.) This remains the last release from Glacial Movements that we will stock,
as we will no longer be working together. We appreciate how quickly damaged
merchandise was replaced, but issues with packaging of merchandise remain
unresolved.
In line with issues and arguments over packaging and damaged merchandise
(received from other record labels), today, we took inventory of all of our
packaging supplies ... and photographed an enormous pile of it! Photos and a
list of supplies will be published in our next newsletter, as well as the
shipping pages of the DMD and FFS sites when time allows. Most of you are
already familiar with our packaging methods, and remain quite satisfied! For
everyone else, a point remains to be made regarding the difference between shops
and labels who are sincerely concerned about customer service and those who
continue to toss merchandise into anything they can find laying around the
house, which usually amounts to garbage that is laden with the scent of either
incense or cigarette smoke. For every 1 person who is shocked by our comments,
10 are replying with praise for the care taken in packaging their DMD/FFS orders

The albums by Visions (on Cyclic Law) and VoidWork (on Black Drone) should be
arriving very soon! Unfortunately, after 10 weeks of waiting, the shipment from
the Zoharum label (albums by Ab Intra, Bisclaveret, Hoarfrost, etc.) still has
not arrived. Despite an extensive cultural history both rich and varied, Europe
as a whole has failed to offer even mediocre postal services. Parcels
from us arrive in Europe in just a few weeks, at most. But parcels mailed from
Europe take 4, 5, 6 weeks, then 2 months, and finally 3 months before they
arrive destroyed. Parcels from Asia, Australia, South America? No problem!
Parcels from Europe? Delayed indefinitely. Unfortunately, folks, that's the
update on those items for now. They may never arrive.
Though the albums will not be released by us, we are working with Melek-Tha to
have the discs from his "Symphony of Sickness" (ltd.100) and "Via
Tenebrae" (2CD, ltd.100) albums professionally produced in a factory here in
the USA, while the A5 foldout packaging is printed in France. The result will be
domestic prices for customers in North America and, most importantly, a disc
error rate of zero! We are aware of problems with previous Melek-Tha CD-Rs,
and Lordevil himself has been quick to replace those CD-Rs for customers. Our
solution to the problem - for now and into the future - is to have a factory
professionally replicate or duplicate those discs so that burn errors don't
happen! Please note that we did NOT produce any of Melek-Tha's albums, but we DO
put customers in touch with Melek-Tha so that replacements for defective discs
can be obtained quickly!
Out on First Fallen Star, Mystified's "Passing Through the Outer Gates" (Euology
Series Vol.1, ltd.500) and Secret Druid Society's "Restless" (ltd.500)
should be released in June, if there are no more delays. Music mastering for
both albums is complete. Artwork, however, is still in progress. We had to
switch graphic artists. Aside from some original photography and artwork by
other individuals, Eclipse Media will now be responsible for artwork and layout
of the Mystified and Secret Druid Society albums, as well as Melek-Tha's "H.P.
Lovecraft, Volumes 1-6" set! The box set is still planned as a resin cast of
an original sculpture by artist Corinne Crowe. Sculpting takes time. The release
date will be sometime in 2011, and we are not yet ready to take any form of
pre-orders.

ConSouling Sounds (Simulacra CD), GreyTone (Phragments & Korinth CD, etc.), and
Infinite Fog Productions, which means, YES, we are getting a restock of
Velehentor's "Dyatlov Pass" (3CD, ltd.493), which sold out from us almost
immediately after the newsletter announcing it was issued. We think we ordered
enough copies this time, but we shall see.
We have received a shipment from Cold Meat Industry, and a partial shipment (one

We have not yet updated the Coming Soon page or the catalog itself, but we
should have some fresh merchandise arriving in the next few weeks - and at good
prices!
We apologize for the lack of updates, but we've been very busy with organizing
the next few releases on the First Fallen Star label. Mystified kicks off our
Eulogy Series with "Passing Through the Outer Gates," a very mature and
deeply personal album that blurs the lines between ambient, experimental, and
neo-classical. Not long after, we should be releasing a full-length dark ambient
album from up-and-comer Secret Druid Society titled "Restless." And the
proverbial cat is out of the godd*mn bag ...
... We're not just releasing Volumes 4 & 6 in Melek-Tha's "H.P. Lovecraft"
series... First Fallen Star is releasing the entire series, Volumes 1-6, all 12
CDs, all at once, all together! The standard format will be a 12-disc DVD case,
with 16-page booklet, limited to 300 copies (including all copies from the
standard and box set editions). The artwork will be completely different from
what was produced for the handmade editions of Volumes 1-3 & 5, but we're not
ready to divulge any details just yet! There will be a super-limited BOX SET
edition that will include 2 bonus CDs, but because we were bored to death with
boxes made out of paper, boxes made out of wood, and boxes made out of metal, we
decided to hire an artist to sculpt a box set for us, and then cast copies in
resin! But we're not giving you any details on that either. Not yet!
We decided to release the entire series as a whole for several reasons, not all
of which we're bothering to list here. We didn't want Volumes 4 & 6 (previously
unreleased) to stick out from the others if they were released in digipaks, in
different quantities than the other volumes were limited to. And whereas the
music has not previously been mastered at all, it now will be - all of it. With
mastered music and all new artwork, the series is being reborn as a whole.
(Incidentally, Volume 2 will now feature Silcharde's "Hate" - a track that did
not originally appear on that volume.) And the box set? Well, we wanted an
excuse to release a box set format, and we needed the whole series for that.
Like we said, we're not giving any details on the box set just yet, but we do
encourage you to go to

newsletter. We will be taking pre-orders on the box set before it is
released! (We will, of course, make sure that there are photographs and full
details provided to you before taking pre-orders.) There may or may not be a
choice involved in the color of the box set you receive, so you need to stay "in
the loop" with us on this project if you are serious about making the purchase.
